I am delighted to offer these photographs to be displayed in the lives of those who love and cherish the music and musicians of this special time and place. These photographs are part of my collection of archival images of the band R.E.M. that I made in their early years while they learned to be a band and I learned to use my camera. We met in the dorms at the University of Georgia and collaborated on much of their early publicity and album artwork in the DIY day of the Athens music scene. – Sandra-Lee Phipps
